“It’s not personal” = Convenient Excuse

I’m not going to soften the edges on this one folks.

Everything is personal.

We are all people.

So “it’s just business” doesn’t fly with me.

It’s just business is an excuse to be lazy. It’s the short cut. It’s the pre approved lingo of being a shotty leader.

What’s better?

It’s personal AND it’s business.

And there is always room for BOTH.

It’s our job as a leader to create space for both.

They are NEVER mutually exclusive.
