Necessary or Fun?
I was talking with my husband yesterday and he said “well it’s not really necessary, it’s just fun.”
My brain immediately thought…..”I think fun is necessary.”
This is where my head is these days. After spending most of my life blatantly chastising fun, I’m starting to appreciate how important fun is for our health, wealth, and sanity.
I have several clients who rank the fun element in their lives very low. Like a 2 out of 10.
It’s very common.
There are hundreds of reasons I hear about why fun has been relegated to the bottom of the priority list.
And I’m here to tell you that we need to work on this.
We can be having fun at home, at work, with friends, with ourselves, and at times we wouldn’t even expect fun to pop up.
Now I know that our brains will poo poo fun when other things seem more important.
But the quality of your creativity, your problem solving, you parenting, and basically everything you do is influenced by the amount of fun you allow in your life.
I can help you invite in the fun. I can help you dig deep to figure out what fun looks like. Most of us have completely forgotten.
Yes….this is a part of leadership and executive coaching. You can’t have a fun & exciting work culture if no one is really having fun in their life.
Donuts on Thursday do not make up for years of boredom in all the other areas of life.
Let’s have some fun.
